You can purchase our entire selection of knife sharpeners online.

Work Safely

The newly developed Z-Frame on which the sharpening segments with two proven grit sizes are mounted, allows for dual-sided sharpening of your knives directly on the knife block. This setup is convenient for both left- and right-handed users and eliminates the need to move the entire block. The perfect sharpening angle of 15 degrees for European knives is pre-set correctly, ensuring optimal sharpening when you draw the knife at a right angle across the segment.

The application

For the best sharpening results, moisten the sharpening segments under running water. To achieve a perfectly sharpened knife, position the knife horizontally at the tip of the sharpening stone and, if needed, gently draw it in a smooth arc from top to bottom several times. Make sure to guide the entire blade—from the heel to the tip—uniformly through the sharpening process.
To sharpen the other side of the blade, remove the Z-Frame from the device, rotate it 180°, and secure it in the designated slot at the bottom. Then, repeat the described process on this side of the blade. Finally, wipe the knife gently with a damp cloth to remove any residue from the blade.

Twice as sharp

Like all TYROLIT LIFE sharpening systems, the Knife Block Plus also features two handcrafted ceramic precision segments with the proven grit sizes of 400 and 800 (according to FEPA). For coarse sharpening, use the rougher, darker side marked "Sharp" first. For fine sharpening and to give the knives a lasting edge, repeat the process with the lighter side marked "Finish."

Maintenance of the sharpening system

To ensure long-lasting enjoyment with your knife sharpener, we recommend using a scouring pad. This allows you to recondition the stones, keeping them effective for a lifetime.
