Product Facts

The best knife will not stay sharp for long if used on the wrong surfaces. Wood is a living material and compresses while cutting—these cuts eventually close up.

The high-quality beechwood cutting boards from TYROLIT LIFE are perfect for gently cutting bacon, bread, and vegetables without damaging the blade. If you notice that the blade could use some maintenance during use, simply use the integrated ceramic sharpening stone to restore your knife’s usual sharpness.

Following the principle of simplification, TYROLIT LIFE has combined two essential functions into one tool—the ideal cutting surface and a reliable assistant to re-sharpen kitchen knives, such as the Santoku knife, directly while cutting. This product is available in two sizes.

  • Dimensions: 32 cm x 21 cm x 1.8 cm
  • Removable, 100% handmade ceramic sharpening stone from Tyrol
  • The oiled beechwood is particularly gentle on the blade, hygienic, and durable due to its hardness
  • Juice groove

application

Remove the sharpening stone from its slot in the cutting board and moisten it under running water. Place the sharpening stone back into the slot with the writing facing down, and draw both sides of the knife blade in the cutting direction over the stone several times. Make sure to pass the entire blade evenly. For optimal sharpening results, position the blade at a slight angle (15 degrees). Ensure the blade makes even contact. Finally, clean the knife under running water.

cleaning

Wooden cutting boards are often believed to be less hygienic than plastic ones because they are usually not dishwasher-safe. This is a big misconception. In the video, Lisa Shelton from Koch mit Herz shows you how to disinfect our Plus cutting board in just 2 minutes without using any artificial cleaning agents. And all you need are 2 ingredients that everyone has at home.
