Puff Pastry Canapés
Zubereitung:
Surprise your guests with a winter appetizer as an aperitif. These crispy puff pastry canapés with red onions and feta cheese are ready in a snap and are a true taste sensation.
Cut the puff pastry into 12 rectangles of equal size.
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius with the fan setting.
Peel the onions, halve them, slice them finely, and place them in a bowl.
Add olive oil, honey, balsamic vinegar, and dried herbs, then stir to combine.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and lightly brush it with some olive oil.
Crumble the feta cheese with your fingers and distribute it in portions on the baking tray. Lay the onions on top and then dot each with half a teaspoon of cranberry jam.
Place the puff pastry rectangles on top of the filling, pressing the edges down with a fork to seal.
Brush with a beaten egg and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.

1 roll of puff pastry
2 red onions
2 tbsp olive oil + 1 tbsp for brushing
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp red balsamic vinegar
1 tsp dried herbs
125g feta cheese
6 tsp cranberry jam
1 egg for brushing
Serving Tip: Halve before serving and accompany with a glass of chilled sparkling wine or prosecco.
