If you look at common comparison portals, you will find countless manufacturers of pizza stones on which the most delicious dishes can be prepared. With all the different producers, it quickly becomes confusing, and so the purchase of a pizza stone sometimes turns into an odyssey.

We’ve therefore provided an overview and in this article, we showcase some of the particularly popular pizza stones available on the market. The pizza stone from Tyrolit Life certainly cannot be omitted. It distinguishes itself from many other pizza stones through a handful of unique features – such as the waffle structure on the bottom for efficient heating or the model with a puzzle design, allowing only as much surface of the pizza stone to be used as is actually needed. This is especially popular for grilling, but more on that later.

Pizza Stone by Burnhard

Stern.de took a close look at the Cordierit pizza stone from Burnhard in a comparison test. With dimensions of 45 x 35 x 1.5 cm, the rectangular baking stone offers ample space to let your baking skills shine – and other sizes are available too.

You can also use the pizza stone on the grill without any problems, as it can withstand temperatures up to 500 °C – everything else would also be surprising, since Burnhard specialises in grills and accessories of all kinds.

Cordierite pizza stone – All details about the material

In this article, we delve into the world of pizza baking, with an emphasis on the traditional pizza stone that forms the basis for crispy, delicious pizzas. You will also learn about the benefits of cordierite.

Round pizza stone from Esprevo

The winner in a FAZ comparison was a round pizza stone from Esprevo. It is made from glazed cordierite, which is particularly meant to simplify the cleaning process of the pizza stone. Along with the stone, which is 1 cm thick and 33 cm in diameter, a pizza peel is also provided in the package to help place the pizza on the stone.

Also helpful: the video course on the Esprevo website, which offers practical help getting started.

Pizza stone from Blumtal

According to the FAZ comparison test, a pizza stone from Blumtal also performed well. It features rounded corners and measures 38 x 30 x 1.5 cm, making it slightly thicker than the Esprevo pizza stone, and it comes with a pizza peel as well.

You can use the pizza stone in the oven, but also on the grill.

Relaxdays Pizza Stone

Both round and square pizza stones are offered by the company Relaxdays. These differ not only in shape and size, but also in thickness. For example, there is a square cordierite pizza stone in the range, which promises to store more heat with a thickness of 3 cm, but also has to heat up longer.

Depending on the model, in addition to the pizza stone, a pizza peel, or a quick guide with recipes can also be included.

Napoleon Pizza Stone

The Napoleon 70000 pizza stone was also examined in the FAZ test – or the stones, because this is a set that consists of two pizza stones!

The small size as well as the otherwise sparse contents of the package for the uncoated pizza stones were criticized. This is because neither a pizza peel nor instructions were included in the package.

Pizza Stone by Weber

Also included in the comparison test of Stern.de was a round pizza stone from Weber, with a glazed surface, a diameter of 27 cm and a proud thickness of 4 cm. It can be used up to 400 °C and weighs only around 1.4 kg.

The scope of delivery consists solely of the pizza stone – a pizza shovel, for example, is not included.

Pimotti Pizza Stone

A pizza stone from Pimotti is listed on Vergleich.org. It is made of fireclay and can store a lot of heat due to its thickness of 4 cm.

Pizza evenings can be planned with the Pimotti app, which contains recipes, shopping lists and instructions.

Rösle brick

The round baking stone 25074 from Rösle, similar to the one from Pimotti, is made from fireclay but is considerably thinner at 1.5 cm. While a pizza peel isn’t included, it features chrome-plated handles for easier handling of the 3.8 kg fireclay pizza stone.

At 41 cm, the diameter of this pizza stone is anything but modest – but once you have found space in the oven or on the grill, you can also bake comparatively large pizzas on it.

Pizza stone from Tyrolit Life

To conclude our list, we naturally cannot omit the round pizza stones from Tyrolit Life, which distinguish themselves through numerous positive attributes. Included are an oven mitt for right-handers and a pizza peel, along with several unique construction features.

Waffle structure on the pizza stone – Efficient heating

Both Tyrolit Life pizza stones share a common feature – the waffle pattern on their underside, in addition to the included pizza peel. This design allows the 1 cm thick stones to heat up in approximately 30 minutes.

The short heating time of the pizza stone ensures that you can quickly start baking pizzas and other delicacies. In doing so, you save both time and energy, allowing you to delight yourself and your guests with a variety of dishes from the pizza stone even more swiftly.

3-piece pizza stone – for flexible use

The pizza stone is made of cordierite and, with a diameter of 33 cm, it fits not only in ovens but also on many grills with ease. To offer even more space-saving and flexible usage, especially for grilling, Tyrolit Life includes the FLEX pizza stone in their product line.

The FLEX pizza stone is three-part and can be used either as a whole or in individual pieces. This enables you to cook smaller items on the grill without occupying too much of the grate. The stone utilizes its puzzle-like configuration to provide you with additional flexibility.
