Pearl necklaces bring tears, an empty wallet leads to poverty and Knives are not given as gifts: there is a superstition about almost every situation in life.

With them, however, there are often also ways to avert their ominous prophecies. We will discover, how you can still gift knives.

Knives should not be given away? An old superstition and how to trick it

An old superstition says that you should not give away knives because this would cut the bond of friendship. However, you can remedy this with a little trick.

To avert the impending misfortune associated with a gifted knife, the recipient gives back a penny to symbolically purchase the knife. The giver must not refuse the coin.

In some countries, therefore, the practice has been established of including a coin with the knife gift, allowing the recipient to immediately “buy” the knife. This applies both to individual knives and to knife gift boxes containing several high-quality kitchen knives.

Knife Gift Box from Tyrolit Life

Whether the gift is triggered by a symbolic cent or the recipient is not very superstitious from the start, we are convinced that high-quality kitchen knives make a wonderful gift for both the amateur and professional chef, superstitions notwithstanding.

You are welcome to order our kitchen knives – including santoku, bread, and filleting knives, among others – individually from the Tyrolit Life Shop. Alternatively, you might opt for purchasing a Tyrolit Life knife gift box: a distinctive present for a special someone. Assembled in various configurations, it makes the perfect starter kit for culinary excellence.

All about culinary delights – from Tyrolit Life

To ensure that the kitchen knives remain reliably sharp, Tyrolit Life also offers user-friendly knife sharpening options – either as a separate sharpening stone, as a practical knife sharpener with a preset sharpening angle of 15 degrees, or as integrated sharpening stones in cutting boards and knife blocks from Tyrolit Life.

But that's not all: In addition to gift boxes, knife sets, and sharpening tools, Tyrolit Life also offers two different pizza stones. Crafted from cordierite, both models feature a unique waffle structure on the bottom to make heating particularly efficient. The FLEX pizza stone further distinguishes itself with its three-part construction. This allows it to excel on the grill, taking up only as much space as you allow.
