What kind of steel are the knives from the Darkline series made of?
The TYROLIT LIFE Darkline knife series is crafted from non-corrosive, martensitic, high-end stainless chrome steel enhanced with special alloy additives. This composition ensures exceptional hardness, flexibility, and edge retention, making it the perfect material for tools and parts that demand very high standards, such as knife blades or surgical cutting instruments. Thanks to its special microstructure, a hardness level of 60 HRC (Rockwell hardness) is achieved.
What material is the handle of the Darkline knife series made of?
The handle is made of Micarta, which is considered one of the most premium plastics due to its exceptional longevity and resilience. The patented, ergonomic design of the handle on the Darkline series kitchen knives also prevents the formation of calluses.
What is the special Teflon coating for?
The special coating of the blade ensures excellent sliding ability. In addition, the black blades look very stylish and are a real eye-catcher in the kitchen.
How do I properly clean the knives of the Darkline knife series?
Like all other high-quality kitchen knives, the Darkline knives should be cleaned with warm rinse water without aggressive detergent immediately after use and dried with a soft cloth.
It is advisable to always clean the knives immediately after use. This is because bacteria that have reached the blade from the cut material attack the surface of the knife steel and slowly reduce the quality and hardness of the steel. To protect the user, the knife should always be dried with a cloth along the back of the blade.
It is not recommended to clean the knives in the dishwasher, as the high temperatures and dishwashing detergents will attack the knife handle and reduce the hardness of the blade steel.
