Facts about the product

The best knife will not stay sharp for long if it is used on the wrong surfaces. Wood is a living material and gives way when cutting – but these indentations close up again later.

The high-quality beechwood chopping boards from TYROLIT LIFE are ideal for cutting bacon, bread and vegetables without damaging the blade.

If you realise during your work that the blade could do with some care again, simply use the integrated ceramic sharpening stone to restore the usual sharpness to your knife.

Following the principle of simplification, TYROLIT LIFE has combined two essential areas in one tool – the ideal cutting base and a reliable helper for re-sharpening kitchen knives such as the Santoku knife directly while cutting. This product is available in two sizes.

  • 42cm x 30cm x 2.5cm
  • Removable ceramic sharpening stone, 100% handmade in Tyrol
  • The oiled beech wood is particularly blade-friendly, hygienic and robust due to its hardness
  • Juice groove

application

Remove the sharpening stone from the recess in the cutting board and moisten it under running water. Place the sharpening stone back into the recess with the inscription facing down. Pull both sides of the knife blade in the cutting direction over the stone several times. Ensure that the entire blade is sharpened evenly.

For optimal sharpening results, position the blade at a slightly angled position (15 degrees). Make sure the blade is in full contact with the stone. Finally, clean the knife under running water.

cleaning

Wooden cutting boards are often considered less hygienic than plastic boards because they are usually not dishwasher safe. This is a major misconception. In the video, Lisa Shelton from Koch mit Herz demonstrates how to disinfect our Plus cutting board in just 2 minutes without using artificial cleaning agents. And all it takes are just 2 ingredients that everyone has at home.
