Product facts

Whether for kitchen knives, large carving knives or small vegetable knives, fruit knives, paring knives with curved blades, cheese knives or mincing knives – the TYROLIT LIFE combination stone made of ceramic sharpens your blades.

The combination segment is also a standard component of our knife grinder and knife sharpener range.

  • 100% handcrafted in Tyrol, ceramic sharpening/combination stone
  • Two different grit sizes (400/800) ensure the perfect sharpness
  • An abrasive fleece for stone maintenance is included in the package

The application

For the best sharpening result, draw the blade across the respective sharpening segment at a 15° angle. Make sure that the blade is evenly aligned and only apply gentle pressure. For pre-sharpening, draw the knife across the coarse, darker segment and for fine sharpening, across the fine, lighter segment. The frequency of the grinding movement depends on the desired degree of sharpness.

Care of the Combination Stone

We recommend using the enclosed abrasive fleece to clean the stone and maintain its sharpening properties. To do this, hold the fleece under gently running water and move it in a circular motion over the combination segment until the surface feels slightly rough again and looks uniform. The segment is cleaned by the abrasive sludge that is created as a result, and the abrasive grain that has become rounded off by use is washed out. The sharpening property is restored by exposing the underlying abrasive grain.
