The blade

The bread knife is forged from a single piece of rust-free stainless steel (steel material 1.4116) and ice-hardened multiple times. The finely polished blade surfaces and balanced weighing lines along the cutting edges guarantee long-lasting sharpness and the best cutting properties.

The handle

The black, ergonomically shaped plastic handle ensures good and safe handling and impresses with its exceptionally attractive design and feel. The blade and handle are seamlessly and inseparably connected.

TYROLIT LIFE Iceline

The TYROLIT LIFE Iceline knife series is manufactured in close collaboration with the Tyrolean tool expert Stubai. All knives impress with their outstanding workmanship and durability. The rustproof blades are forged from a single piece of the highest quality stainless steel (steel material 1.4116) and are provided with high-quality protection against corrosion through multi-phase ice hardening. The perfectly coordinated balance between blade and handle ensures that the knives fit perfectly in the hand. The dishwasher-safe materials naturally comply with all applicable food and hygiene laws.

Perfect slices of bread thanks to the TYROLIT LIFE bread knife with wavy edge

A fresh loaf of bread gives breakfast, lunch and dinner a special touch. To extend the shelf life, it is recommended to buy uncut bread. But to cut perfect slices of bread yourself, you should always use a bread knife. This avoids squashed slices and bread crumbs and gives each slice an appetising shape.

Cutting through crispy crusts and soft crumb is an art in itself and a question of the right technique. The secret to slicing perfect bread slices is a high-quality bread knife, ideally with a serrated edge. This supports the sharp blade and effortlessly cuts through the hard crust and soft crumb.

The serrated edge describes a special toothing of the bread knife, which allows a precise cut of the fresh dough. While the longer tips focus on the crust, the sharp wave valleys deal with the crumb. The tips saw the crispy outer shell of the bread and the wave valleys cut the soft, yielding interior without squeezing it.

But a high-quality bread knife with a serrated edge can do even more: thanks to the special teeth, you can apply more pressure to specific points on the bread loaf. The serrated edge's smaller surface area means that there is no excessive crumbling and squashing of the bread crumb. On the contrary, you can cut perfectly shaped slices of bread with little effort.

Optimal cleaning of bread knives

The TYROLIT LIFE bread knife is made of stainless steel and is forged from a single high-quality piece. This makes it corrosion-resistant and therefore dishwasher-safe. Although you can clean your bread knife in the dishwasher, the long-term high temperatures and aggressive cleaning agents have a negative effect.

To extend the durability of your bread knife and to protect the material, we therefore recommend cleaning it by hand. Since the blade is usually not exposed to heavy soiling during use, lukewarm water and a mild detergent are sufficient. After cleaning, you can dry your bread knife with a kitchen towel and store it until you need to cut bread again.
