Guide

Buy bread knives from the Iceline knife series

With the Tyrolit Life Bread Knife, slicing bread becomes effortlessly easy: Sqashed slices or crumbs are definitively a thing of the past. The stable blade with its precise serrated edge is perfectly suited for the entire range from fluffy butter braid to crunchy ciabatta.

The ergonomic design and the long blade ensure the highest reliability as well as ease of use. Within our selection of bread knives, you’ll also find the stylish bread knife from the Darkline series.

Bread Cut – The stylish bread knife of the Darkline knife series

This 140-gram lightweight bread knife is your optimal partner for all types of bread, from soft toast to classic baguettes. It also features a 21 cm long blade that impresses with its precise serrated edge. The integrated grip indent allows for clean and precise control during cutting.

The special advantage of the Bread Cut bread knife lies in its special coating and edge, distinguishing all knives from the Darkline series. It ensures low resistance and high glide, significantly reducing the sticking of the material being cut.

Additionally, it is crafted from high-end stainless chrome steel with special alloy additions. The blade’s hardness level of 60 HRC (Rockwell hardness) is comparable to damascus steel, known from Japan. Equipped with a patented ergonomic handle made of Micarta, you have a high-quality and stylish bread knife in your kitchen.

Care and cleaning of bread knives

The Tyrolit Life Bread Knife is made of stainless steel and is forged from a high quality piece. It is therefore corrosion-resistant and therefore also dishwasher-safe.

Do not put your bread knife in the dishwasher. The permanently high temperatures and the aggressive cleaning agents can have a negative effect on the knife. Knives with wooden handles in particular should never be placed in the dishwasher.

In order to extend the durability of your knife and to protect the material, cleaning by hand is therefore recommended. Since the blade is usually not exposed to heavy dirt during use, lukewarm water and a mild detergent are sufficient.

After cleaning, you can dry your bread knife with a kitchen towel and store it until the next time you cut bread.

Sharpening Bread Knives – Easy and Self-Sufficient

If your bread knife is only slightly dulled, it is often sufficient to smooth out the burr on the flat side of the blade. For this task, our versatile sharpening stone is highly recommended. Just a few strokes are enough to remove the burr, ensuring an easy sharpening process whether you are left-handed or right-handed.

If the bread knife is significantly blunt, however, the notches between the serrations must be sharpened with a honing steel. Following that, the edge must be realigned from the opposite side. This procedure is somewhat more complex and requires more effort than sharpening knives with smooth blades. Therefore, it’s often best to have the knife professionally sharpened.

Bread knife accessories – perfect addition to your kitchen

Bread slices best with our bread knives when used in conjunction with the beech wood cutting board. The cutting board serves as the perfect slicing surface in your kitchen.

Alongside our high-quality kitchen knives, Tyrolit Life offers the appropriate accessories:

These enhancements are indispensable in any kitchen. Proper maintenance endows your beech wood bread knives and cutting boards with longevity, sharpness, and optimum functionality.
