Cut and enjoy cheese – with the Tyrolit Life cheese knife

With the Tyrolit Life cheese knife, cheese can be cut evenly and served appealingly. It is primarily suitable for cutting soft and sliced cheese – this allows countless types of cheese to be divided and portioned.

As one of the oldest foods in the world, cheese presents itself in numerous variations and varieties.

Many cheese makers guard the unique recipe of their cheeses like a treasure that holds the secret of a distinctive taste.

For many cheese lovers, the cutting of cheese is inseparable from the enjoyment of these products, which can be celebrated in a special way with the Tyrolit Life cheese knife.

The Blade

The cheese knife is forged from one piece of stainless steel (steel material 1.4116) and ice-hardened several times (to 56 HRC). The finely polished blade surfaces and balanced weighing lines along the cutting edges guarantee long-lasting sharpness and the best cutting properties.

The handle

The black, ergonomically shaped plastic handle ensures good and safe handling and impresses with its exceptionally appealing design and feel. Blade and handle are joint-tight and inseparably connected.

Soft cheese knife, hard cheese knife or cheese slicer?

However, if you want to avoid pressed-in cheese pieces, you should opt for a high-quality cheese knife. Depending on the variety, a soft cheese knife, a cheese slicer or a hard cheese knife is often used.

Cheese can be cut with a normal chef’s knife. However, due to its consistency, this often leads to unsightly results.

Hard cheese and soft cheese have a different water content and thus a variable consistency. What both cheeses have in common is that they quickly stick to the blade or are pressed in when cutting with a commercially available kitchen knife.

Hard cheeses like Parmesan require more force to cut, therefore, specific parmesan knives are often used.

Alternatively, you can also cut hard cheese into wafer-thin slices with the cheese slicer or cheese cutter or chop them with the cheese grater.

Characteristic of cheese knives for cutting soft cheeses such as camembert, gorgonzola, mozzarella or cream cheese, on the other hand, are recesses on the blade: these holes prevent cheese from sticking to the knife, so that it can be beautifully draped on the cheese board.

The Tyrolit Life cheese knife is ideal for slicing soft cheese, as well as for cut cheeses like Emmentaler. Thanks to the large cutouts in the blade and the high-performance micro-serrated edge, it delivers superior cutting quality. Thus, your piece of cheese receives a straight and uniform cut, doesn’t stick to the blade, and isn’t squashed during cutting.
